Philips Morning Wake-Up Light With Sunrise Simulation HF3510
The Phillips HF3510 is one of four dawn simulator alarm clocks that Phillips manufacture. This HF3510 represents one of the mid priced models. From the outside it is identical to the HF3520, but It is not quite as feature rich as its more expensive stable mate. We found it still offers a really great user experience though.
Phillips HF3510 Main Features
The alarm lights up gradually over a thirty minute period; before your alarm sounds. At your alarm time your wake up sounds will play. This should be enough to complete your wake-up experience, and ensure you are fully awake. The sound gradually increases in volume to your selected level. That takes around one and a half minutes. With the Phillips HF3510 you have three natural sounds to choose from, Bird Song, Birds in the forest and Zen Garden. There is and FM radio option if you prefer that to wake up to a bit of jazz!! We love the Bird song.
It has twenty adjustable brightness settings, you can adjust all the way up to 300 lux which is quite a high value compared to some of the competitor lamps. The sunrise simulation light increases from darkness to a pleasant bright yellow light. You can adjust the sequence timer to suit yourself. Normally between twenty and forty minutes.
As well as these great features, all you have to do is tap the unit to activate your nine minute snooze function.
Because of the twenty light intensity settings, the alarm clock can easily be used as a tabletop or a reading light.
As another feature that we liked is that the Phillips HF3510 does not just wake you up, it also helps you to drift off to sleep. The sunset simulation function is really just the reverse of sunrise simulation. But what could be more blissful than to drift of to nature’s sounds in a gradually darkening room?
Main Design Features
Nice modern design finished in Beige and White the elegant and sleek alarm stands 19.2cm (7.1/2in) tall and 19.8cm (7 ¾in) wide. It has easy to understand function buttons are studded into the alarm body surrounding the light face. In the back of the device we find the speakers for your FM radio and alarm sounds as well as the mains plug socket. It sits on nonslip rubber feet.
Ease of Use
The Phillips HF3510 gives a great user experience, and that of course includes ease of setting it up for your early morning wake up call. We found it very easy system to program, and although the function buttons are quite small we found they can be readily accessed and used. The instruction manual is pretty easy to follow with plenty of illustrations. Click here to see your users manual

Summary
Another excellent Dawn Simulator from Phillips. We love the style and design of all the models in this range. It is the mid range model and so does not have all the functions of the more expensive HF 3520 model. However the functions that are omitted on this model might not bother you. You will find it has just two less wakeup sound options. The sunrise simulation only has one colour tone, and it has only one programmable alarm time, so if your partner needs re-waking at a different time you must re-program.
