Everybody has at least one bottle of vinegar in the pantry. Many people who know even keep white vinegar in the cleaning cupboard to help around the house with burnishing and stain removal. Most people though just use vinegar sparingly in salad dressing, or to pimp up an occasional party dip.
The amazing health benefits of apple cider vinegar are less well known. It is by far the most popular vinegar within the natural health community.
Here are some neat remedies you can try at home
1) Stain remover for teeth.
Gargle with a little undiluted apple cider vinegar in the morning. Rinse with fresh water, then just start your normal tooth brushing routine. You will find it freshens your mouth and breath too.
2) Apple Cider Vinegar is an aid to losing weight.
Amazingly apple cider vinegar can indirectly help you loose weight too.
How? Well the acetic acid present in the vinegar will suppress your appetite and increase your metabolism. It also aids in reducing water retention.
Add 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to a cup of water and drink it once a day. Then, increase the amount of vinegar per serving, and the frequency of drinking. Take one hour before main meal times for best results. Add a small dash of honey is it is more palatable.
3) Clears dandruff and adds body and shine to your hair.
Mix 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar with 1/4 cup water into an atomiser spray bottle, then drench your scalp. Wrap your head in a warm towel and leave it to work for 30 minutes to an hour. Then just wash and rinse your hair as usual.
A couple of times a week should be enough to allow this natural treatment to keep dandruff of your shoulders and make your hair look brilliant, shiny and full bodied.
4) As an after-sun soother.
Run a lukewarm bath with 1 cup of apple cider vinegar added. Climb in and soak your body for 15 minutes to calm the discomfort of sunburn.
5) Instant relief from insect bite itches.
Just dab it undiluted onto your insect bite and feel instant blissful relief.
6) Helps to regulate your skins PH.
Replace your current toner with a dilution of one part apple cider vinegar to two parts water. Apply at night after removing makeup and washing your face. and again in the morning before you apply your moisturiser. You may also notice that this regime will also begin to fade age spots and minor skin blemishes.
7) Reduces heartburn.
There is much research suggesting that apple cider vinegar works by correcting low, weak and out of balance acid levels to reduce heartburn. The true reason behind heartburn and indigestion is when the stomach is low or lacking in acid, it must churn violently to utilize the limited acid. This causes pressure and back flows of the existing stomach acid. And that is heartburn! So it might sound counter-intuitive to treat acid heartburn with acidic cider vinegar, but now you know why and how it works.
Take a generous tablespoon of apple cider vinegar followed by a glass of water. Normally stomach churning and acid reflux should reduce within minutes. Throw those antacid tabs away forever. Symptoms are caused by ulcers can’t be treated by this method though.
